Asterisk is the right choice , I had done a couple
of installation using FXO cards .
If u want to take short cuts , go for FreePBX ,
http://www.freepbx.org/trac
the site , asteriskguru.com helped me a lot ,
when I started . the link
http://asteriskguru.com/tutorials/asterisk_voip_ipphone.html
cleared my concepts of what is sip , and extensions
Also if u can get hold on "Linksys WRT54GL" u can
isntall "http://openwrt.org/" on it and try out
setting up VoiP for u , openwrt has asterisk with it
The book which u have it is good book ,I u are
using Free PBX , u can avoid reading third chapter
Read ch 4 , 5, 6
thanks
