Hi All,
I finally got down to setting up hylafax after promising myself that for
ages. So here's how the journey went for me:
Step 1: Get the modem working! Thanks to the list I was able to read up
and get it finally up and running and tested today.
Step 2: Install and configure hylafax.
Step 3: faxaddmodem
Now, that's the kicker here. I realized that I need the linuxant driver
for my modem, which I downloaded and tested to be working fine. However,
the driver has limited functionality (14.4kbps only). Ok, so I don't
mind that atleast till I'm in the test environment. But hylafax isn't
able to query the modem for it's class.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know if the "free license" driver supports fax? The FAQ
says the driver does but doesn't specify the paid full version or the
free license version.
2. Let's say for whatever reason I'm not able to get the modem to
behave, can you point out which external modem are you using with your
hylafax installation? Drivers, ease of installation, etc.?
