That may be because even though the file wasn't compressed, it was probably
encoded either as binhex (name ends in .hqx) or macbinary (name ends in
.bin). You will need a decoding program, such as Decoder. Unfortunately,
these programs are always encoded or compressed for downloading. The thing
to do is have someone email you the program in uncompressed, unencoded form
(or else compressed with a program your PC can deal with). Put the program
on a DOS formated floppy, then transfer it whole to the Mac.
