Actually, Aladdin Expander for windows will decode BinHex and MacBinary.
Chances are that the file type got screwed up in the process so the mac
doesn't know that the file is an application. (Remember this next time
someone says that the PC isn't 'smart' enough to know what a document is
without a file extension. The Mac just hides its extensions from the users
in file Type and Creator codes...)
