Hi: Take the top off the Duo Dock, and then deal with the problem.
This sounds easy, but it's not as easy as you would think. Take your thumbs and
place each inside of the front bottom of the top to the duo dock. If the door is
jammed by one side being out, it may not be easy to do this. If you can get your
thumbs in, try and press outward with BOTH thumbs, to unlatch the front of the lid.
This is not as easy as it sounds. If you are able to lift the front of the top
UPWARDS, pivoting on the back of the front, do so until the front is raised 6 to 8
inches (the top being at an angle of about 20 or 30 degrees). Then grasp the top,
and try to lift the top STRAIGHT UP. At this point it's VERY EASY to break the back
of the Duo Dock plastic that engages the back of the top. Try very hard not to force
anything to do with the back of the top. This is different than the front, where you
have to push outwards with your thumbs with a greater force than it seems you
should. Once you have done it, and have the top off, you can look back and see what
you need to do the next time you take the top off. Unfortunately, it's easy to get
frustrated with the back attachment and break off the fragile plastic parts that
stick up from the Duo Dock base.
Once you get the top off, you can then deal with the door, which is just cosmetic.
Worst case is to throw the door away--the first top did not have a door, only the
'color tops' have the door. It's function is #1 pretty, #2 to keep dust out of the
innards. Somehow that wasn't needed on the original Duo Dock for the B&W Duos. Hope
this helps.
