The stubs serve only as stops.  You should be able to force the door back
behind the left one, where it belongs.  The first Dock I bought (years ago)
arrived in a similar state, though it had been well packaged.  The only
explanation I could come up with was that it had been so badly handled in
transit that inertia/momentum had forced the door to swing past the stops,
though given its minimal mass that seemed unlikely.  But if so, then your
Dock may also have received other damage not necessarily the fault of the
seller; in my case, UPS made good on the damaged hard drive.
