I'm running 8.6 on a 2400 and I don't have an enabler either. Don't think
this is an issue for either Duo's or 2400's. If I recall correctly older
Mac OS's had system enablers that were specific for each cpu. It's what
helped the System Software configure itself to each specific computer, for
whatever reason it needed to.
I'm sure someone can correct me, but new CPU's like the iMac have their
start-up ROM in system software which are probably described as Enabler's.
Since our ROM's are hardwired into our 2400's this isn't an issue. Bottom
line, there's nothing for you to upgrade. . .
