I am definitely in agreement with you. The cube form factor has a lot
of my PC friends drooling......but, when you couple it with the price of
the monitor it is way too expensive. And speed for me and many of my
friends, is NOT the only reason to buy a computer. I was a die-hard PC
user for many years. I would not even touch a Mac! Totally
close-minded on the subject. But I got tired of the constant crashing
of Windows 95, and 98, and along came the iMac. Well, I resisted for a
time, but the price was attractive, actually lower than the Sony VAIO,
that I had recently purchased. Now the VAIO sits in its original boxes
out in my garage, and I now have 12 Macs. Daily I use my PB DUO 280C,
and my Performa 575, and my wife uses the iMac. She would love a cube,
but again too expensive, SEXY, yes! But too expensive. As you can see
by the above computers, we would be perfectly happy with a slower
processor (the 400Mhz iMac is fast enough). I don't see why Apple can't
come out with a lower priced Cube with a slower processor, just as they
have a slower iMac.
