Has anybody tried using VPC 4 on a 2400 with a Newer or Interware G3 card? Spex call for >50 MB RAM avbl, a G3 and a CDRom, all of which are slightly at variance with the 2400. It was a bit of a hassle getting 3.0 installed, as I had to mount the CD drive across the net. The G3 spec seems OK; the 2400 is probably one of the slower G3's , but it certainly IS one. VPC doesn't seem to mind having a slug of VM instead of real RAM, but the spex for 4.0 are steeper. Anybody foolhardy/undaunted enuf to take the plunge yet? If I really could get anywhere CLOSE to 2X speedup (which would make this aging laptop about as fast as a 250MHz Pentium), it'd be worth some installation hassles and/or tight squeezes like a special "location" that only had minimal extensions, etc. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
