Sorry to hear of this, but I gotta respect your efforts to get it going. The fact that it even attempts to restart I find encouraging as mine never did once it went dark. If it's not a dead logic board than I'm guessing a bad hard drive. Is there any chance you can disassemble it, swap drives? It might be just a loose daughterboard and the mere act of ripping it apart may give it the ritual absolution it seems to require. Also, if you ever get it to start booting again, try the shift key to load w/o extentions. . .
