It's a bit extreme, but might be the cheapest. If you can find an old LC
I/II/III or even SE with an ethernet card, you could run the Localtalk
Bridge available from the Apple Software Update site and use it as an
intermediary between the G4 and Duo. I use several of my Macs with the
bridge to make a very useful localtalk network of sorts, all without a chain
or hub, ethernetted to my PC. I love my LCIII, even running OS 8.1 it's
quite snappy and you can tuck it away anywhere.
