Hmmm, that's not my experience. I have a Wallstreet II, which is clearly not
an Airport ready Macintosh.
I had no problem configuring my Airport base station with it. The message
I'm typing right now will go through Aiport, BTW.
It may have something to do with the card you're using. Since Apple is
officially mentioning the Lucent ORiNOCO card, I went with this one, the
Silver version. No special driver to install, beside Airport, and it's been
working flawlessly so far.
