Depending on what you want to do on the internet ie. anything besides use a
browser, it does matter what's running on the PC. I'm runnig on a LAN
through an NT server which has MS proxy server on it... the web works fine,
but to use POP mail and ftp and telnet I use SOCKS4 App which puches all
the OT streams through port 1080 - the PC's socks4 server and gives
functionality in that way - it's not ideal, and I get no DNS lookup, but it
works...
You can find SOCKS4 app in the Interarchy installer...
Hope it works out.
Dan.
