Battery Recondition doesn't work on the 230. It says so in the 'read me'. I 
don't know why, but I suppose the 230 lacks some sensing circuitry. Or is it 
because it's an 68030 processor ?

Two ideas : 
1. You might try and up the memory allocation of batt.rec.
2. Try it with MacOs 7.x.x running on the 280. May be Batt.Rec. 1.5 doesn't go 
well with sys 8.1.
