Yours is a very clever and snazzy version. I have a few comments:

-A CD-ROM will not fit in the size of laptop I am hoping for.

_ Do not like the speakers where they are. The vertical direction is the 
single most important dimension on a laptop if you are going to use it in 
the cheap seats. Right now the existing Ti is pretty close to the mark 
but still 1" taller than a 2400. I would suggest locating a SINGLE 
speaker somewhere where it does not expand the envelope. (Who needs 
stereo if it'll add an ounce? These little speakers sound like $#!+ 
anyway.)
