Hi,
First of all, thanks to everyone who volunteered advice on my
problem. I reinstalled all Apple Ethernet extensions and zapped the
PRAM, and still I can't get either the 2300 or my iMac to see the
network using the Asante adapter. Someone mentioned resetting a
switch, but the Micro doesn't have any on it that I can see.
I think Laurent said his setup worked only using a hub, so the
problem might have something to do with my crossover cable and the
transmission speed of my SCSI port on the MicroDock. Unfortunately, I
don't have a hub to test this, and having to use a hub sort of
defeats the purpose of having a nice little portable Ethernet adapter
to lug around with my 2300. Has anyone gotten the Micro adapter to
work with a 2300 using a crossover cable?
If not, I may just sell the Asante (if anyone's interested, please
email me offlist) and start saving my pennies for a NewerTech
Ethernet Microdock.
Again, my thanks to all you great folks,
Nancy
