I have to admit I drooled over the VAIO Z505's dimensions just before MWT.
12.1" TFT at 3.75 lbs. is near the perfect form factor, but then there's its
miserable display, battery, and keyboard plus Windoze. >>
As I travel quite a bit, weight and "fit" is important. As I no longer work
for an oil company, I tend to travel in the back of the bus. Ever try to
open up a full sized unit in coach??!!?? Ended up buying an IBM Thunkpad 240
(if I EVER get my hands on the idiot that invented that &%*^ eraser
pointer.....!) the little 3 lbs subnote. STILL find myself using the Duo
alot....except on trips when I NEED internal 56K and/or WinDoze
compatibility. Oh, for a 400 mhz G3 the size of the Vaio or the ThunkPad
240!! Steve, wash that Ti in HOT water and shrink it down a bit!!
My standard is that it HAS to fit sideways in my briefcase...I need the rest
of the room for my Palm, a book (for the long trips) and my docs. The Duo
fits perfectly and the TP240 actually is a bit smaller. HELLO, STEVE!!???!!!
Cheers to all!
Andrew
