I awoke a couple days ago to find, upon setting my 2400c/180 in its travel case, that there was a rattle sound in the computer. It has been tight, quiet and case unopened since I bought it new in 98. It was very clearly the sound of a loose screw rolling around to the left of the touchpad down at the inside bottom of the computer. Fearful that it would roll somewhere and be destructive to sensitive components, I decided it would be best not to take a chance and move it. I have since perused the 2400c web site (excellent resource!) and viewed the descriptions of opening the machine up to reconnect this single screw. I'm going to go for it and open it up, keeping track of all the dozens of screws. Any strategies for keeping track of taking the screws out and putting them back in? But. Before I do, I wanted to ask those of you who are familiar with loose screws in 2400c's, is there any place that I should look for as being the logical place to locate where this loose screw might have come from? If there are so many tiny screws, with a number of holes not filled with screws, is it going to be clear where this loose screw goes? I remember a thread a while back about the extreme temperature changes being a cause of screws working themselves loose. Are there any other screws I should look to tighten up once I have it opened up? Thanks very much for any help. --Clark Foerster *********************************************************** Keeping in Touch... I read my email about every week. I read my mail about every 2 days.
