Not exactly - what you can do is simply run the latest available
version of the formatting tool in question, to get the latest driver
it installs (the Drive Setup app that ships with whatever the latest
Mac OS update is, for instance). There have only been a few cases
where a driver issue was discovered and a particular version of Drive
Setup (or a third party driver) was recommended for a particular Mac
OS. It's not a matching game, but an "at least this version or
higher" requirement. Just use the latest and you'll be ok.
