Peter,
Usually bad flicker involves a rupture or partial break in the power adapter
cord. This can be hidden under the cable insulation, usually just behind the
DC computer plug. I've repaired several. The fact that your battery stops
charging for a while (on one adapter) further suggests such a
problem--certainly on that one adapter. Since your 2400 continues to flicker
on ALL of your adapters, does the battery stop charging on the others as
well?
If not, you may have a second problem related to line variations. My 2400s
have on and off flickered, sometimes for a power adapter cable problem and
other times for no apparent reason (sometimes severely), since new and
continue to work.
