Peter, I think since you have tried other AC adapters and still get the 
flicker that it is something else. Maybe Sydney's suggestion.

However, my 2400c screen has flickered a lot whenever the battery has 
gotten fairly weak (not to be confused with discharged) and it has 
flickered even with the AC adapter plugged in but also on battery at the 
discharge end of the cycle. When I've replaced the battery (twice now) 
with a new one, the flickering has gone away or certainly diminished in 
frequency.
