I can only say that this has definitely not been my experience. I've
interconnected so many different versions of Open Transport
Appletalk, "Classic" Appletalk (all involving different versions of
the OS as well as various transplant-upgrades of the OT libraries)
that I couldn't possibly count them all, and I've never seen any sort
of consistent problem with File Sharing. I've also used it with CAP,
Netatalk (over both Appletalk DDP and IP), Windows NT, and once I
accidentally downloaded a file into my cat when her whiskers crossed
wires with an ethernet cable (thus producing "kitty porn"). I'm
heading over to my sister's place to dump some files on her iMac now
(a couple of OS and OT Appletalk revisions back from my 2400).

I have heard of issues with the Etherdock and Ultradock when used on
a 2300c, but my experience was that the Newer Ethernet Microdock
(which shares ethernet hardware with the Ultradock) had no problems.
