        My first response is return the PS, because they overcharged you
for it.  What machine is this, though, as that might be a fair price for a
45 watt for a G3, etc.  Try getting an adapter for an external monitor if
the machine boots, as it is useful without the display, and that might be
due to a cable being  loose.
