I think 9.2 is a requirement. At least, I couldn't figure out how to
install it without installing the 9.2.1 upgrade on my iBook first.
Luckily, the nice folks at the Tyson's Corner Apple Retail Store gave
me a free 10.1 update CD which included the 9.2.1 update.

Another thing you need besides 9.2.1 and iTunes2 is a *powered*
firewire port. I think most firewire PC cards aren't powered, but I
think the Ratoc firewire cards are powered via an ADB dongle. I
think a powered firewire hub might also do the trick. Maybe someone
over on the PowerList has tried it. One good place to discuss the
iPod is the iPod message board on the Go2Mac site:

<http://www.xsorbit.com/users/go2mac/index.cgi?board=iPod>

If you look there, you'll see some discussion from people who have
tried using a powered hub and/or a Ratoc firewire card.

Hope that helps!

Allie
