Both times i resolved the situation by resetting the power manager see. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?orig=til&artnum=14449#faq6 I only had to do step 1 to get rid of the X through the battery. Sometimes i have had to do step 1 (press and hold the reset button for say a minute then release) twice in a row.ie press and hold a minute then release then consecutively press and hold a minute and release. hope this helps stephen kenda > ------------------------------ > > Dan Chase wrote: > > > Discovered my local 'Batteries Plus' vendor has > > powerbook batteries.
