Thank you for the replies. Here are some responses to the tips that I received from this list.
1. I tried booting without the extensions using the shift key. No luck. 2. I have approximately 160 meg full on the 23O meg drive running System 7.5.5. I tried the NDD Emergency Disk V3.5 and it booted but the System folder did not have a Control Panel to select a start up disk. When I ran Norton Disk Doctor from the floppy it reported that I had a few system files with damaged resource "links." These resources, I swear, were okay before as the Duo booted before I ran Norton Version 3.5. 3. I tried booting up with an external CD-ROM, non Apple, but was unable to get the boot drive to skip the internal drive with command, option, shift, and delete command. The Duo kept going to the internal drive and warning dialogue that I was missing resources. 4. I accept the fact that something strange happened here on the internal hard disk, that it probably is not be Norton's fault, and that I have some bad resource files in my System folder. But if anyone has an idea of how to boot it up so that I can replace the "damaged" System file I sure would appreciate it.
