I'm actually considering a switch to a TiBook. <collective gasp from the list>

Let me clarify... I'm actually considering getting a TiBook for my
'work' machine (replacing the G4 desktop I have) and probably keeping
the 2400c for both personal travel and satisfying my sentimental
attachment to the little green thing. =)

You see, the old leather Madson Line bag I have been using for almost
ten years (started with a Duo 230!) has been semi-retired, and mostly
replaced with a huge bicycle messenger-style bag... one large enough
to carry a TiBook with room to spare.

Plus I have reached a point where I have to make the move to OS X, at
least in my professional life.

Every time I have test drove the iBook, it has seemed to have pretty
weak performance, especially with OS X. Unlike the 2400c, which was
damn near top of the line performance-wise when it was released, and
was for a short time (after the Interware G3 CPU was released) the
fastest laptop in the world, the iBook seems to have been
artificially crippled by Apple.

The iBook also has some weird ergonomic issues. The hinge makes it
very back-heavy and out of balance. The case is kind of ugly too,
though a metallic green paint job would improve it. =)
I have a few PC Card peripherals that I'm unwilling to let go of too.

Granted, I've only been considering this for a bit... and haven't
actualy *done* anything rash yet.
