I've been getting a Sac Mac tonight with my Duo 2300, xxx000F 00000019. A google seach for Sad Mac errors yielded this message: coprocessor divide by 0. How bad is it? Hardware or software issues? Is there any work around?
I have a mini-dock and a serial cable. I've been trying to get an ethernet network set up with a Micro EN/SC SCSI ethernet adapter, and I've updated my system software, 0S 8.5.1. Yesterday I tried to install 8.1 to give my 20 mg RAM some breathing room, but still have 8.5.1 running. Somehow I missed a step with the installation. I've been fiddling with the micro adapter and the mini-dock because they've been finicky about their connections. Though I've tried to exercise good anti-static protection, grounding myself and discharging static electricity before handling the cords and adapters, I fear that I still might have fried the board in my haste and frustration to get things connected. I really like this duo, and I've got quite a bit on it. Fortunately, I did back up everything from the hard drive onto my desktop before working on the installation, so I haven't lost too much if I am suffering a catastrophic loss. I do have a RAM disk on the computer with disk first aide, but it hasn't come up when I've rebooted the computer. Frank C. Modica 501 E.
