I'd suggest looking for a 280 screen if you want to end up with the faster logic board, I bought one on eBay for under $20, a nice upgrade for my 2300c! : >) However, for battery life a 230/250 is hard to beat.
It's funny, the color PBs always are in greater demand, but my all-time favorites all have active grayscale or b/w screens (PBs 170, 180, 250, 280 and 540.) The displays are just so beautiful and crisp, and you can use them in _any_ light even (or especially!) direct sunlight.The added battery life is nothing to sneeze at either.
