I HAVE heard IE have a problem with displaying random international characters as "strange symbols". I don't recall that a solution was discovered.
I recommend switching to Mozilla Browser . I hear iCab is very small and fast. I may start to use it on my 2400c Is it only IE that has the trouble. Can you use keycaps to see your umlaute ? hope all is in order soon >Noone else to turn to but you... sob... >Now that I have your attention: I installed IE 5.1.4 on my DT G3 and on my >2400. But: on the 2400 now all German Umlaute (,,) on German-language >websites are gone, and as a German they are vital to my well-being. Well, not >quite, but it is fairly annyoing: became something like a , became a % >etc. I read and post (writing I can't properly either) a fair amount in >German on the web, and it doesn't work. >I chucked all MS-fonts, to no avail. I also checked for language and font >prefs which are identical on both browsers in my G3DT and the 2400, nothing. >I looked for any sort of sw-conflicts and disabled everything my system >doesn't need for walking straight, nothing.
