Hi,
there is a >patched< cd-driver that can reside beside the original driver in
your extensions folder. It has worked fine for me (w. OS 8.1 and 8.6) to
connect a non-licensed toshiba CD and a teac CD-RW. I will mail it to you if
you're interested - you might give it a try (though I cannot take any
liabilty for eventual damage...)
