Some years back, I used a Mitsubishi 4.6GB MO drive instead. I still have it. Heavy duty metal. It's SCSI-1, does lots of clicking and clanking over its incredibly loud fan, etc. But I never had any r/w errors backing up my drives, a big improvement from using error-prone ageing SyJets. >For backup, I would suggest investing in a used DTL (Digital Linear >Tape) tape drive.
