" can't get the drive on the Duo to show up when I boot using
the Speed Disk floppy. Just shows the floppy and there's no way in the
program to force it to scan the SCSI. Can't defrag it without using the
floppy as there are files open. Tried the emergency disk with the same
result. Thought I might be able to boot with a system disk and then run
Speed disk from the hard drive. So far, I'm not having any luck doing
that. Any ideas?"

I do not know what you have tried until now. To boot off the cd, be sure that you
are holding down the "c" key down while you start the computer and keep the key
down. If you cannot start the computer that way, start the computer and immediately
hold dow the "c" key, but be sure you keep the "c" key down. I have booted my 230s
from a ZIP drive also. Also, try using a mounter using a mounting utility if the
computer doesn't see a drive attached to the SCSI. I haven't had much luck with
that, but once in a while it does work. If I didn't answer your question, maybe I do
not understand it. Good luck.
