Hmm, should I try to figure out why my Newer SCSI MiniDock and Micro 
EN/SC combo has worked without a hitch on my 2300 under 8.6 and 9.1 for 2 
years now?

One thing I've noticed is that Asante products _really_ need to have the 
drivers installed rather than simply copied over from another system. I'm 
pretty sure the installers put 'something' into the System file, which of 
course you would be missing if you just dragged the init over. Someone 
with greater knowledge of the ethernet driver scheme in MacOS will have 
to elaborate as I have no idea why this is so.
