I've used it (it's all you can use for a PB before the Duo 270). It works
fine for what it does, but no better than running the battery down yourself
by using the PB and dismissing the warnings manually. It just doesn't
(can't) do quite as good a job as BR, because BR can (and this is the
important part) drain the battery completely *while* continuing to power
the Duo (and run the program!) from AC. Thus not "needing" to be plugged in
isn't exactly an asset - more accurately BA is *unable* to remain plugged
in (which is also rather unfortunate because you ideally should start
charging the battery as soon as it fully discharges, and with BA you need
to stick around so you can plug it back in, as opposed to running it
overnight while you sleep).

BA does it faster because it can't go as far - I would have thought that
obvious. Other than that it's just a pretty timer display and a way to keep
the CPU, backlight, speaker and hard drive busy (which you can also do by,
say, playing a game). Add the fact that BA costs extra while BR comes with
the Duo (270-2300), and there's no real point in the comparison. Use
whatever you enjoy but don't make claims you can't substantiate.
