Almost any properly terminated scsi CD-ROM with a unique ID will boot a 
Macintosh, as will just about any ATAPI CD drive on those systems that 
natively support them.

If a CD is bootable on an Apple supplied CD drive, it will work in most 
any CD drive into which it is inserted. The driver is resident on the CD. 
I've yet to come across a CD drive that _won't_ boot a Mac, save for a 
couple of CD-R drives.

Sigh, I hope I don't have to again go though the explanation for the 
umpteenth time on why this is so . . .
