The 2300 has a bigger screen, too, right? That was one reason I was thinking

What system to do you recommend to go with the 280c?

If you bought a from-the-factory 2300, then yes, the screen would be a bit bigger. However, the 280c screen fits fine so if you just bought a board and dropped it in, everything would work.

Note if you want to use the 2300's trackpad/top you'll also need the 2300 bottom, or be prepared to do some hacking. I had to hack my case up a bit to get it to fit, but it worked.

I like 7.1 on a 280c. I ran 8.1 for awhile but it was just a little sluggish. Went back to 7.1 and it's nice and snappy. Plus, even with every addon imaginable it still only takes three megs of RAM at boot. There's really no reason to run 7.5.5 or 7.6.1 IMHO.
