Wasn't sure if this would be of general interest, but decided to post to
the list in case others are experiencing similar stuff.

My latchlight also starting the steady green glow thing today! But it
seems to have miracle healed itself. Well...I am hoping. Anyway, after
one freeze and an initial refusal to start up this morning it has been
running fine--no more freezes and starts up first try. Even the latch
light has been behaving. But I haven't tried starting it very often
yet. This "improved behaviour" has started since I drained the PRAM
battery. Maybe there were just a few glitches after it awakened from its
batteryless sleep?

Hmm..can't remember exactly. Apparently it was manufactured on the 40th
week of 97. (Judging from the seriel number.) I thought I'd had it about
two and a half years. I guess it must be one and a half instead! I got
it in Jan or Feb.

I use it all the time. And I start it up often too, I don't put it to
sleep or leave it on all the time like some people do. I don't take it
places with me outside of the house, but I do puck it up and put it down a
lot, cos I actually use it on my *lap*. <g>

Well, it *is* summer, but I don't think the temperature was abnormal.

LOL! Thanks--that makes me feel better. I probably overreacted. It just
seems so scary to send it off to some far away place! OTOH, I'm not too
keen on handing it over to the local Mac people either, since they may
never have seen one before. ;-) Let us know how you fare!
