Are you using the multi-synch adapter with the beige G3 as well? If it works
there, then I believe a problem could be that when using a multi-synch adapter,
the Duo defaults to it's maximum resolution (for some reason, yet another
"feature" of the Duo Dock is suspect). It is likely that the Duo is outputting
a signal greater than that of your monitor. Since the Dock has its own set of
preferences, the only way to reset the Monitors and Sound control panel
resolution back into an acceptable range for your PC monitor is via the dock.
But, it's a catch 22, because you need a monitor attached to the dock in order
to see what you are doing. I know of no other way to do this. That is precisely
why I went right out and bought a video adapter with DIP switches as it allows
you to specify the maximum signal that the Dock will send (within your monitors
specs). I would suggest you do the same and spend the extra money (take the
multi-synch adapter back if you can). The reason I suggest this is that, you
see, whenever you Zap the PRAM, all of the settings return to the default.
Therefore, when you next insert the Duo in the dock or restart after zapping,
you'll have the same problem all over again. So, even if you borrow a friend's
monitor to solve your problem now, you'll have to keep doing it over & over
again. Perhaps someone else on the list can help with this one, but I've never
figured out any other way to handle this one.

On the other hand, there might be something wrong with your video card. So, you
might want to test it with a high quality/resolution monitor before you go
swapping adapters, etc. depending on how friendly your local dealer is.
