Hi Edgar,
You guessed right. I'm not sure how much VRAM there is on the board but it
won't run more than 256 colours (8bit card) but it will easily run a 17"
mon (although I don't have one). The only oddity is that if I only run one
monitor off the dock then the default monitor appears to be the nubus card.
I can't for the life of me work out why this is so, all software tweaks
work only if both monitors are connected. Not a big deal though.

Where two monitors appears to be better (for me) than a larger monitor is
that you can do the projects on two seperate screens that you describe. I
recently started to design web pages (theyr'e not great so no addresses yet
:-( ) but I use Claris Homepage to do my design in one page and then I
have netscape open on the other monitor to check out how it will actually
appear. I use Canvas from time to time and it's great for these progs to
have all your floating palettes on one monitor whilst the document is left
uncluttered on the other.

In fact it always seems bizzare to me, given the discussion on mini-docks,
that the common old garden dock is not recognised alot more for it's
prowess. I have a hard drive in mine, extra VRAM, an extra nubus slot after
the monitor (does anyone know if that means that I could run a third
monitor?) and floppy. I don't mind reaching around the side to insert the
floppy. In fact the only 'downside' of the dock from what I can see is that
it doesn't support stereo out (or in?). Anyone figured out a work around to
that? (I suppose an audio card could be installed).
