No, you misunderstand. The HDI-30 connector needs to be female so that you can
plug a regular HDI-30 Male connector into it, like the one that comes with the
Sony portable CD-ROM. Once you have an HDI-30 Female connector, it doesn't really
matter what gender the DB-25 connector is, or even 50 pin Centornix  connectors,
since those types of connectors are all standard for getting SCSI into a desktop.
