>hmm brings up a point- for those running mac os 8.6 how many of you are

I've been running it that way since the OS 9 release (and OT 2.6 update),
without any problems. I'm also using Remote Access 3.5, which will install
on OT versions back to 1.3 or so. These components are essentially separate
from each other and the OS (a nice feature of the STREAMS design that OT is
an implementation of).
I have been seeing a random freeze when opening a new URL in IE 4.5/5.0
lately, but I doubt that's coming from the OT update (I was a bit
disappointed when it occurred again after switching to IE5, though). Still,
I might try downgrading to OT 2.0.3 / RA 3.1.3 for a while just to be sure.
