Not true. I had the modification done by MCE.

I have processor cycling enabled.
I allow it to turn off inactive PC Cards.
I can boot with CardBus cards inserted.

The only thing that doesn't work is the eject buttons. I must eject 
the card via software methods, with the machine booted.
