Agreed. Except for the obvious things like pressing the power button,
connecting the modem to the phone line, or resetting the power manager ;-)

This is not really an individual criticism or an attack, but a general
observation. If anyone has a problem, please list all of the steps you have
taken to solve it before asking for help. I don't mind repeating myself for
the
sake of new listers from time to time, but I hate wasting time making
suggestions that have already been tried. Honestly, I have suggested to
people
the simplest things  that they have overlooked, so one can't assume that
someone posting has tried all of the "basic" steps to resolve their problem
before posting for help.
