My 2400 hd is acting up big-time. I erased it (it is fully backed up,
thank goodness) and ran disk setup (sys 9) on it. Running Disk First Aid
produces "Mountcheck found serious errors" plus a number of minor
errors. Sometimes Disk First Aid reports it has fixed the errors but on
another pass it finds them again. I can't write to the hd. Sometimes it
appears on the desktop of the computer it is SCSI linked to, and
sometimes it does not mount. Mt. Everything can't mount it. Techtools 2
does not find physical problems with the disk. HDT Primer (an old
version) does not find any bad blocks.

Is there any other procedure for getting a format on it that works or am
I looking at a dead disk?

peter
