Did you also experience that? It seems, that dvdauthor also has problems with
padding.
Maybe it uses some xine-code?
That happens when the transport stream is incomplete (due to missing
packets). It's probably nothing dvbcut can help with. When the signal
quality isn't perfect (that often happens with DVB-T), some pictures and
audio frames will always be broken or missing.
To fix it, you would have to modify the streams (e.g. insert or remove
audio frames or pictures) in order to correct the timing.
