I guess not, since I dont know what you mean.
mythtv creates *.nuv files; these are mpg-in-disguise I guess, since dvbcut 
will read them, e.g.
: ln -s xyz.nuv in.mpg
: dvbcut in.mpg  
and then save the (video + 1 audio channel) as p.mpg
This p.mpg plays perfectly in mplayer.

How (and why ) would I 'remux' the MPG?

I load the MPG file up into TMPGauthor, in which I dont apply any further 
edits, or change the audio in any way.
TMPGauthor "converts to VOB" in that it creates an entire
DVD structure from however many MPG files I give it.

Does Movie Factory re-render the MPGs (other than just re-writing them as VOB) ?
