Nice solutions... I like both! :-)

And the one is not excluded by the other (as long as you inhibit writing out a 
dummy frame). But if I had to decide between the two, I would also choose the 
first one because that way nobody has explicitely to know how to get the last 
frame... it's more intuitive. The second one is more for insiders... ;-)
