As the public German TV stations have started sending their regular 
program in HD yesterday, I am beginning to wonder how I could process 
TV recordings in the future.

Have you been making any progress on what you called dvbcut2 a year ago? 
Is there anything you would like to or feel able to share? I am quite 
positive: There are plenty of potential users out there, willing to at 
least have a look at your work :)

PS: At this time, I am not even able to record HD data with my VDR 
setup, using DVB-C; I am currently using the still-current stable vdr 
1.6 as provided by my linux distribution and am not able to produce 
re-playable recordings...
