In my limited experience, just about any installation of something new or "improved" can mean replacement of one .dll file with another. Supposedly, they are backward compatible, but I have seen cases where they weren't. I remember one epic case where we installed a piece of software on our network and all of our Microsoft applications network-wide stopped working! What this may suggest is that a reinstallation of DX4WIN is in order. Fortunately, that's not a very daunting task, and can even be done in a different directory that can be deleted to save space if it doesn't solve the problem. 73, Pete N4ZR The revised World Contest Station Database is online at www.pvrc.org
